As we take the time to pay tribute to our fallen vets this Memorial Day weekend, we also celebrate life with the joyous activities that go into it! If you are wanting to get out to some meaningful events and silly fun this weekend, here are a list of activities in the North Metro area:
Rocky Mountain 15th Annual La-La-Palooza Show and Shine Cruise

The Broomfield Plaza Car Show Rocky Mountain 15th Annual La-La-Palooza Show and Shine Cruise In is a FREE event is for everyone and anyone on Sunday, May 28th from 10-1pm of Memorial Day Weekend! Show up early to get a spot and go to the DJ van for your raffle ticket and dash plaque!
All makes and models of cars welcome. Visitors will enjoy activities like mini golf, kids crafts and carnival rides with lots of prizes all while enjoying DJ hits and various local food trucks.

Boulder Creek Festival

Happening May 26th – 29th, the Boulder Creek Festival is a yearly Memorial Day weekend event that features 30+ bands on three separate stages, 200 artisan booths and over 300 restaurants throughout this festive and fun weekend!
The festival is located along The Boulder Creek from 9th Street to 14th Street between Canyon Blvd and Arapahoe Ave.
Also in Boulder, The Bolder Boulder is celebrating 45 years of running the streets of Boulder. If you are registered or just want to cheer on your bestie, this annual 10k race starts Monday morning at 30th St. and Walnut and finishes within the iconic CU stadium to a crowd of 1000’s of cheering fans.

It wouldn’t be summer without some serious play time! Many know that Elitch Gardens opens in central Denver, but our North Metro Water World also opens its slides for summer fun on Memorial Day weekend. Tickets and season passes can be purchased on-line and at the door.

Adams County Veterans Memorial Park

The American Legion and Adams County will unveil its new Adams County Veterans Memorial Park in Brighton at the Riverdale Regional Park. Here you’ll find a replica of the battleship, the USS Colorado. The USS Colorado, launched in 1921, was active in the defense of Pearl Harbor, the Tarawa invasion and the battle of Okinawa, just to name a few. Her history of supporting US soldiers is deep and volatile -even being fired upon by suicidal kamakazes before finally getting decommissioned in the year of 1947. Opening ceremony begins at 10am.

The Murph Challenge

The annual Memorial Day “Murph” Challenge 2023 can be found in various gyms across Colorado, but Longmont is hosting a special event this weekend on Monday the 29th from 8-11am. This annual test of strength and courage is in honor of Lt. Michael P. Murphy, and other soldiers, who have lost their lives in service to our country.
