Denver’s north metro area has treasures for every taste and age! Here are our top picks for fun
activities happening this weekend in our neck of the woods:

Thornton

Money and Mimosa is happening at the York Street Depot this Saturday, January 28th, at 10am. This FREE event is an educational workshop designed to help you save and grow your money. It is not a sales seminar. There is no sign-up sheet and you will not be asked to buy anything. So come on by and grab a mimosa and a bite to eat and mingle with other ladies looking to learn about money management. This is a free event.

Westminster

January 28 (Registration deadline is January 27 at 4pm)
Lace up and join the Six Pack Series Winter Westminster 5K! This series is designed for the entry
level runner/walker looking to get into foot races in a professional, fun and safe environment
without the intimidation of a 'big race.'  Participants of all abilities are welcome, rookies or
veterans!

Broomfield

January 28 – 12pm
Celebrate Broomfield’s School of Rock end of season show at 100 Nickel! Show entry is free and
open to the public — no tickets necessary. Bowling will be available on a first come first served
basis with regular daily bowling prices.

January 27-29
Take in a live performance of Disney’s Winnie the Pooh KIDS, based on the beloved characters
of A.A. Milne and the 2011 Disney animated feature film. Featuring favorite songs from the
film, as well as new hits by the Academy Award-winning Robert and Kristen Lopez of Frozen.
The kids will love this! Tickets are $13 for youth and seniors and $15 for adults.

Erie

January 28 2-3pm
Meet sled dog musher, Karen Land and Noggin, the Alaskan husky at the Erie Community
Library. Land is a writer, public speaker, and three-time participant in the 1000-mile Iditarod
Trail Sled Dog Race as well as many other sprint and endurance races in the U.S. She’ll be answering questions about what’s its really like to run a dog sled! All ages welcome.

Bird Conservatory of the Rockies

January 28 9am-Noon
Did you know that close to 100 Bald Eagles winter at Barr Lake? Join the Bird Conservancy of
the Rockies for the Barr Lake Bald Eagle Walk to see these beautiful, resilient birds living in our
own back yard! The walk is 1.5 miles each way at Barr Lake State Park. Great family activity! $7 per person.
