Well North Metro Woman readers, fall decor is en vogue from window to door. So if you are gearing up for Halloween or just love a good harvest theme, chances are pretty good you have or need a pumpkin on your doorstep right now. As seen in North Metro Woman’s Fall Guide, here is our list of best places to go pumpkin picking:
Anderson Farms in Erie has something for everyone! This family favorite starts fall activities as early as July- late August with Sunflower picking and moves right into pumpkin-picking, a 25-acre corn maze, authentic wagon hayrides and their spooky Halloween attraction, Terror in the Corn – rated the #1 Haunted Attraction by Scarefactor.com. All activities run through October 30th. Be sure to get your tickets soon as they are very popular this time of the year.
Rock Creek farm in Broomfield has 100 acres of pumpkins to choose from. And once you’ve got the one or maybe five you’ve been searching for, there are many other activities to take part in from a petting zoo, jumpy hay bales, castles, and slides, to a corn maze which you can also visit at night for a little spooky fun. They also sell locally made goodies to try before you leave. The pumpkin chocolate chip bread is a must!
7th Generation Farm in Louisville is not as large as some of the more frequented spots for pumpkin picking, but it’s a really neat experience to visit a working farm that produces organic products year round. Although, they are not open until September 9th for pumpkin picking, they are open Friday-Sunday year round for eggs, meat and honey. The fee for pumpkin picking is $6/person for ages above 3, and they are open Fridays from 12pm-5pm and Saturdays 9am-4pm.
Mazotti Farms in Hudson is an adorable family farm with a “scare-free” corn maze, a farmers market and greenhouse, little donkeys and goats for petting and pictures . They also do crafts, like scarecrow making, for your little ones. If you’re searching for a smaller more personal experience at pumpkin picking this is the place for you.
