You don’t have to be a die hard Swifty to know the pop powerhouse is coming to Empower Field this weekend. And it’s already shaking up the city.
North Metro Woman caught Taylor in Fort Worth early in the Eras Tour and learned a few things about how North Metro fans can get ready for her visit.
Whether you’re going to the concert or having your own Swifty-themed party at home, here are three top insider tips:
#1. Get your beads on!
Swifties love to make and trade friendship bracelets during the show. The bracelets may have became popular thanks to Swift’s song, “You’re On Your Own, Kid,” which includes the line “So make the friendship bracelets”, but there are other origin stories and trends. The key to it all is to make sure you spell out the name of a song and try to pass it on before the concert is over. Hopefully you will get as much as you give.
We always LOVE ideas for getting crafty, expressing yourself and making new friends. If you go to Michael’s, Target or Hobby Lobby in the North Metro area, you should find all the supplies you need for creating some colorful creations.
#2. Get your sparkle on!
Thrifty Swifties can quickly pop into My Best Friends Closet in the Orchards for some very affordable and fun “be-jeweled” outfits.
The key to creating a look specifically for the Eras Tour is to pick an album and base your outfit on it. For instance, if you are going for the “Reputation” look, pick bold pieces in black and reds.
If you are more of a “Lover” girl, put on the pretty pastels. “Midnight” evokes lots of rich blues and intense purples. But no matter what you do, make sure you have lots and lots of sparkles!
#3. Get to the show!
As many of you know, on -site parking was sold out long ago, but you can take the light rail from the B line at Westminster Station or the N Line at Eastlake and 124th Station directly to Union Station downtown. From there it’s about 1.5 miles to the stadium, which can be a scenic 30 minute walk if you’re up for it.
And one final tip for our North Metro readers, if you go to the RTD site, there’s a special link at the top called Swifties Click Here that will offer ALL available train and bus routes from your current location to the concert venue. RTD is also offering its Zero Fair for Clean Air promotion now through August, so the ride is FREE.
But if you simply cannot wait till the weekend, get the party started early at the Blue Bird Theatre in downtown Denver. They’re hosting a Taylor Fest – an Eras Tour pre-party starting at 9pm for ages 16 and over.
If you go to the party, and especially the concert, be safe, and have a phenomenal time. We sure did!
The Eras Concert begins at 6:30pm at Empower Field. Opening acts are MUNA and Gracie Abrams.
