The brand new King Soopers Marketplace located at 136th and Quebec in Thornton is scheduled to open January 26th! If you live in the area, this might be very exciting news for you.
While there are two other King Soopers pretty close by, neither of them is a large Marketplace. They are older stores that are a bit smaller and the area is growing so much that the demand is going up for a more robust grocery store in the area.
Having a King Soopers Marketplace will help serve a growing community. If you’ve ever been to the newer King Soopers off of Highway 7 near Vista Ridge, then you are familiar with what these larger King Soopers have to offer.
You’ll be able to buy apparel, household goods, dinnerware, toys and other general merchandise. Often these larger stores have a more robust health food and vitamin section, as well as, made-to-order food like what you can find at Whole Foods. Sometimes that can make lunch or dinner so much easier!
There’s also a gas station and room for other retail establishments. It will be interesting to see what goes in there next.
While King Soopers doesn’t try to compete with Walmart, this new store could impact the business of the Walmart at 128th and Quebec. But with the amount of homes being built now and in the near future in the area, chances are, all the stores will have plenty of business.
