For the love of baseball, family and really good sandwiches, the Weingardt wife and husband team have thrown out the first pitch for Home Team Deli in North Metro and you are invited to the home opener!
According to Brent Weingardt, it was inspired by a road trip to Cooperstown, New York for his son’s baseball tournament where they tasted their way home through various cities like Pittsburgh, Detroit and Chicago, “On the way back we were just talking about all the different takes and spins and the different cities we went to and all the amazing food we tried and we were like, hey, I’ll bet something like that would work really well in the North burbs.”
The Weingardt’s relationship with baseball goes all the way back to the day Brent met his wife, Jan, at game 3 of the ’04 ALCS. She, a Boston fan, fell in love with his optimism for her ill fated Red Sox.
The greatest comeback in baseball history then led to a love forever intertwined with baseball and NOW some really great sandwiches.
Home Team Deli offers 30 different sandwiches for all 30 ball clubs ranging in style from East coast, to west coast, uptown and downtown. “Every sandwich on this menu is one that I love”, says Brent.
You’ve got The Wizard, a chicken parm with toasted “ravs”, The Laser Show -a classic Italian with five different meats, and there’s The DiMaggio, a caprese with mozzarella, tomato, kale and basil pesto, just to name a few faves.
There’s basically a flavor from whatever part of the country you watched a little or a lot of baseball. If that is not tempting enough, mention “NORTH METRO WOMAN” and Home Team Deli will offer a free fountain or bottled drink on your first visit.
