Is it just me or did Mother’s Day sneak up on us very quickly this year? If you have not made special plans for mom, the mom of your kiddos, or even a special treat for yourself, there are several wonderful spots for afternoon tea in North Metro – all in a unique setting for whatever vibe you desire.
In old town Louisville, right off Main, you’ll find The hard-to-miss Huckleberry in a quaint little house the color of its name. Here you’ll find homemade tea cakes and a variety of black, green, and herbal teas served in a charming little historic house setting.
To the East, the town of Brighton is doing a ticketed downtown event with various Mother’s Day treats like specialty shopping, cakes, crafts, dancing and high tea at the Bee and Thistle off Main.
Just 15 minutes to the West in Boulder, The Boulder Dushanbe Tea House has been a Boulder treasure for 25 years. Yes the variety of tea is astonishing, but it’s also an architectural and artistic wonder with its hand-carved and hand-painted ceiling and walls in a colorful tribute to Boulder’s sister city in Tajikistan.
And lastly, on busy and happening Pearl Street, you’ll find a tea shop called Ku Cha with over 100 teas. And while its primary business is selling loose leaf, boba or matcha at its counter and tea bar, they also have a back tea room for full Mother’s Day service.
All can be booked with just 24 hours notice, but if you want to ensure a good table, call soon! Your mom is counting on you.
